I believe that children should have the opportunity to be their best selves. Since we are not all built the same, this can look different for everyone. As a pediatric psychologist, I believe one of the most valuable things I can do is to help children identify how to effectively use their personal strengths when facing challenging circumstances. This can be accomplished through assessment and therapy that is focused on identifying children’s individual needs and then empowering them to use their unique set of strengths to create an environment for success.
I love working with children and adolescents of all ages providing neuropsychological and psychological assessment, consultation, parent training, and therapy for concerns related to ADHD, autism spectrums disorders, neurological/medical disorders (i.e., seizures, traumatic brain injuries, genetic disorders), learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, and other mood-related disorders. My diverse training has provided me with many opportunities to work with children and adolescents in a variety of settings including schools, outpatient hospitals, and community-based centers.
Through the assessment process, I strive to provide families with a comprehensive understanding of their child’s functioning, as well as practical recommendations to be utilized across settings. I also believe in a collaborative approach to assessment and therapy, and am willing to work with your child’s medical and/or therapeutic providers, as well as teachers or other school personnel. I view the practice of psychology similar to working a puzzle in which you must first identify all of the pieces before you can understand how they fit together. My role is to help you connect the crucial pieces to the puzzle and give you a map for how to help your child succeed.
